Tanja Beutler’s journey in the wine industry spans nearly three decades. After falling in love with wine during her travels in California, she pursued her passion upon returning to South Africa. She gained extensive knowledge working at Thelema Mountain Vineyards and later married New Zealand-born winemaker Rodney Easthope employed at Rustenburg Wine Estate where she handled the sales. Following her divorce, Tanja co-founded Topaz Wine Company and The Garagiste Movement of South Africa. She also initiated Topaz Wine Education. In 2005, she started Hidden Gems, a wine consulting company, and created her solo brand, Red Tape. In 2017, Tanja and Flagan Mitchley established the Cape Town Wine Hub, offering comprehensive wine services in South Africa, including bonded storage, warehousing, transport, distribution, and labeling. Tanja has since developed a range of bespoke wines under Cape Town Wine Hub, ranging from a lifestyle range, a cultivar-based selection, as well as the premium “The Hub“ range.
